The Project

A grant application starts with a plan, often a project that your organisation wants to complete and needs funds for. I work to understand your project, the budget plan behind it and what you want to achieve so I know what I’m seeking funding for to develop a coherent and meaningful application.

The Research


Research begins by identifying your prospective funders and then carefully assessing whether their aims are aligned to yours. Ultimately, what is our chance of success, enabling us to prioritise time and resources.

I build a pipeline of possibilities… and work with you to strategise applications and resources.

It’s then time to research inside your organisation, building evidence we can use to build your case for support and then, when focussing on specific projects, liaising with colleagues to research and understand the project for specific applications.

The Communication

Funding applications require a mix of facts and narrative.  Statistics to demonstrate the need, to show how, what and where you will use the funds.  Qualitative research demonstrates your credibility and builds trust.
 
Grant applications are a mix of planning, management, research and writing combined.  And it doesn’t end there.  Once you have your funding, the project needs to be carried out, and funders will require reporting on the same.   
 
With subject specialist knowledge, I understand your work from the inside: the language and the science, enabling me to translate that information effectively into communication for stakeholders, beneficiaries and potential funders.

Reviews and Support

An alternative is for your colleagues to write the application based on my research and suggestions. I can support and review with them if required.
